I’ve been to Ile de Ré many times and always stayed at Hotel Le Galion in Saint Martin de Ré.When I first stayed there it was about €70 but is now more than double that and can nudge €200 at times.
It’s nice but not that nice .
So we’re trying Hotel La Jetée on this trip .It was €123 for the night .The rooms are just as nice , has underground secure parking for €15 for 2 bikes and it’s even more central than Le Galion.
No pool but no great shakes.
Nice layout

An easy 275 miles today and a nice break on the Royan ferry.

Will take Stevie4Scoops to my favourite restaurant tonight that does fabulous pizzas.
He’s very excited about tomorrow as we’re delaying our departure from here to swing by Les Sables d’Olonne tomorrow just as a great scoopie shop opens up that I came across with Faffskiy last month .

Worth going just for the amazing lemon meringue ice cream .

My bike trip clicked over 2000 miles since I left home as we crossed the bridge on to Ile de Ré.
It’s been a bloody revelation.Perfect riding position for me at 6’1” and 34” leg.
I normally get a tightness between the shoulder blades on most adventure bikes but not on this. All day comfy too.
Screen is perfect in up position and directs air over your torso in low position.
I’ve averaged 58mpg over 2000 miles so it’s 250 miles to empty . Fuel gauge is the most accurate I’ve ever seen .
All I’ve done to the bike is fit heated grips and a Cool Cover to the seat , plus SW Motech luggage.
No issues with bike apart from losing a trim panel bolt on left side plus one bolt each side of front mudguard . No issues as fixed with cable ties and were secure anyway as each side is fixed by 3 bolts . I guess Suzuki didn’t use Loctite.

IMG_7578.jpeg

Only other issue is the mount for my Aoocci worked loose a tad but I didn’t bring the security head with me so held securely by more cable ties

IMG_7577.jpeg

It’s rubbed the screen a bit so if it doesn’t polish out I might get a new screen from MRA or similar.
But overall I’m delighted with the Vstrom .

That’s a second bike on a consecutive trip that you had to fix with zip ties. Sort it out, will you! 🤣

Glad you are pleased with the bike though.

A bit unlike you to write so much bollocks in your ride report :dabone you must be bored or sumfink 🤡

I’d love to join you two for some scoops at the Les Sables… I can see the excitement on Scoopie face already

Nah .
I’ve put the supercilious twat on ignore 😀

News in, playground bully has a thin skin, does not like a dose of own medicine and hides behind the curtains.

I'm sure some shit stirring chap will quote me ...

Yes, you’d hate it .
Why would that be?
1. I like pastries
2. I like coffee
3. Being sat in France at the side of the marina first thing in the morning, why on earth would I "Hate" it???
:nenau

I only made an observation and pointed out the fact that for a cafe to serve pastries for two without side plates is just a bit weird. Especially in France.
Good job you’re busy not working 😀

At 07:49 you are correct, and bloody good observation on your part Mate. My business indeed does not open until 08:00 😉

If you’ve got nothing nice to say …..
:augie

PS: in case you think I am not working...

I am on my lunch break 😘
