Vango tent

Steve - The tent does not have a built in groundsheet. Up till now i just used my empty drybag, but i might cut a bit of tarp to the right shape.

Got some gear today..to replace all my old stuff that goes back to The Ark!!

A Vango Beta 250 tent
Everest 4 seasons bag (good down to -22c, only got it cos' it was end of line and heavily discounted...:))
Bag liner (free with sleeping bag)
Thermarest style mat from Decathlon for a lot less than a Thermarest..:)
Vango pillow (free with tent order)
Couple of 1lt ali bottles

Now just need a new cooker and some pots/mus/plates etc and some drysacs/Ortleibs.

Thinking of an MSR Dragonfly and MSR cookware.

Don't get a Mackinly, go for the biker, same size but a revamped version of the mackinly, packs up smaller to suit packing on a bike (shorter) several of
us have brought and used them many times and they have been brilliant.
Don't bother with the separate fitted ground sheet as these are the same size as the tent base and water gets in between the two, bit of builders polythene cut to suit is better / cheaper.

I have both vango tbs tempest 200 and the gamma 250
i use the tempest for short camping trips and it a great temp
it doesnt take long to set up or pack away and it packs down small enough
to fit into a tt pannier. The gamma i use for longer trips as there is more
space and is higher. Takes a little bit longer to set up and is bigger and slightly heavier but if your doing longer trips its going to be worth using this
tent.

p.s i bought last year model for £45

May eventually end up with two tents as the kids want one now, so it might just happen to be a good 1 man jobbie...:)

Got a Beta 250 for £47, great price for a tent that will only get used a few times a year.:D
