Vario cases in R1200GSA

Hi

Anybody with the BMW Vario panniers (side bags) on 1200GSA?

Dealer says that it's possible to put vario cases on a new Adventure but he doesn't know if I need to throw away the original topcase rack.

Can I use my bike with the Adv topcase (alu) and with GS vario side panniers?

My bike had the vario's fitted when I got it and the Adv rack uses the vario mounting points so you need to ditch the rack.

I've just picked up my Adv rack and I'm thinking of 'adjusting' it to fit with the varios, either that or I'll switch to ally panniers. I like teh varios though so time will tell.

I apreciate your experience. Some friends from spanish bmw forum confirm your opinion. Vario cases are not compatible with Adv rack.
