i wonder if anyone can tell me the dimensions of the vario panniers for the gs . this is to compare them with givis. not near a dealer just now to go and measure. tia, jags.

465mm(L, front to back) x 370mm(H) x 285mm(D, at back, they're tapered).

I've got Varios on my GS and 33ltr Givi Trekkers on my S10. The advertised capacity is bigger on the Varios when expanded but I can get more in the Trekkers. This is because the Givi has all usable space where as the Varios (especially the exhaust side) have wasted space. Obviously the Givis do not have the expand feature and I can get a helmet in the right hand side Vario but not in the 33ltr Givi panniers. This doesn't matter to me as I ride solo and put the helmet in the 46ltr Trekker top box.
If you do go down the Givi Trekker route make sure you get the later ones with the side catches. The earlier ones without these catches were often not waterproof.
