A drop this weekend resulted in snapping off one of the plastic anchors of my right hand pannier. Very irritating :blast

Is this now unusable? Or can I get it fixed? Anyone had any experiences here?

I'm assuming it's not claimable under warranty :augie (bike is still under its 1st year)

Many thanks in advance for your help.

the black hook on the pannier itself. snapped clean off.

Ah, can't help you there then - I had the bit that the hook goes into snap off - that was repaired with self tappers and araldite.

You might be able to get the component parts from MBW. There listed on this online microfiche.

Part No. 46547677394 case bottom, right 1 $102.00

Insurance would cover it - subject to £50 excess and maybe some loss of no claims discount. I would need to read the fine print

I just wanted to check if there may be alternatives before I go down that route.

Sorry about your spill

I am of the opinion that vario panniers are rubbish though. Had them on my last bike and hated them. GS's fall over, well at leat mines did, and they should really make panniers that can cope with this.

@ Moon: See if you can get a damaged second one. As a cause of my crash I had my vario topcase -lid damaged. A friend of mine got a spare one from another crash that had the bottom part damaged. I succeded in making one out of two.

Ask BMW dealers! They get a lot of (insurance) repairs and sometimes throw away the leftovers!
