Can someone tell me if there is meant to be a little slack on the two bolts that connect the fitting kit to the bike just above the rear light assembly?

I've just fitted a kit that I bought off ebay, and it would seem to me that the two supplied bolts don't screw in to the recess and form a strong/ridged support i.e. the rack and box can flex a little. Would seem to me that I'm probably missing a couple of washers or something?

Problem is I'll never get the feckers out now without stripping the head of the bolt.:(

Hi

I just installed the adapter plate last week. The two bolts I presume you are talking about are the lower ones either side of the rear light.

The allen bolts are about 25mm long from memory and replace the very short flanged bolts. I think they are going into a rubber mounted assembly. Whilst they may be tight if you push down hard enough there will be movement as you compress said rubber.

Or thats what mine does and it is still in situ, even after a swift ride back from the footie at Reading to night.

Yep, that's it. Didn't check to see if it was a rubber mounting and that would explain the movement.

Many thanks.
