Vario top box lock removal.

Got myself a vario top box for my 800gs but there is no key for it. I`ve a new lock ordered for it but getting the old lock out looks tricky without doing damge to the plastic housing. Is this a drilling job?

No drilling! Just take out the screws from the underside of the lock. (inside of the pannier lid)

Unfortunately this only removes the locking strip from the top box lid, to get the locking barrell out of the strip without a key is my problem. There is a retaining lug on the barrell itself . Cheers anyway though..

Probably best to keep answers in PM form on this one.....I doubt many people with these boxes would want the info on how to deal with them without a key published openly
