Vario top box

Anyone know if its possible (easy) to mount a Vario topbox to the pillion seat (in lue of) instead of the rack?

Strangely enough, I spent some time today having precisely this conversation with the helpful, friendly parts and accessories manager in my local, friendly, BMW Motorrad dealer. It would appear that computer says no. At least at the moment, there's no BMW kit to mount the topbox on the pillion seat like the one that is available for the previous model GS.

I'm thinking that the next step is to talk to Mark Hooton....

No, it comes with a bracket but a very discreet one, nothing like the previous one.

This might do it fella - if it was modified to accept the topbox bracket similar to what I do for the GSA.

The pics are not my bike, just some I found on net . I bought top box and plate from Sadjim of this parish as I intend to run that set up on the new GSA as I do now. Yes the top box just clips to the luggage plate. I will let you know in March on the back rest question.

someone scoured a used & damaged rear seat from ebay. De-foamed it for the pan , then mounted a box on it.
