Paid around £380 for all the bits (box, locks and fitting accessories) including a backrest and to have it fitted. Looking back I could have put the fixing plate on myself so could have forgone the labour charges - but I couldn't be arsed!

One thing that made me laugh/think someone in BMW is a bit dim, they had to cut little arches out over the fixing points which live just over the tail light. One would have thought that if you knew thats where the fixings were gonna go you would have pre-made them...although now I see on later models they are.

If you buy one and fit the kit yourself, th einstructions advise stripping down the seat base and using a file to cut away the plastic. (You get a template to show you where to cut.)

I did mine with it all in place using a Dremel multi with a grinding bit on it. I took it very slowly and carefully but still only took 10 minutes.
