Just wondering if anyone in the irish section has a vario topbox for a 1200 in their shed/attic that they'd like to sell?!:nenau

So many people seem to prefer givi topboxes!

Am also looking for inner bags for panniers(and topbox)

Maxine in HG Newry has great ones (thanks for the heads-up Aidan :thumb2)
Pannier bags are £9.99 & I think the topbox one was £7.99
Seem sturdy with decent zips & 2 handles.
They're (by far) the cheapest thing I've bought for the US trip ;)

Cheers Jochen:thumb I'll get on to her in the morning:roll

They're a great job Mide, you know how much stuff Aidan travels with :angel

:aidan

BTW I can get them for you if you want :thumb

I got the Givi top box because it was a lot cheaper for the size than the equivilent vario option. I prefer the look of the varios, but the Givi has grown on me considerably.
Inner bag sounds interesting, hmmm, now how do I manage a spin up to Newry...

It depends on the sort of riding and distances you do but with a larger box like the Givi, it is tempting to overload it. If, like me, you tend to travel with everything including the kitchen sink, there is a risk of shearing the bolts that hold the support brackets for the Givi (or Vario) adapter plate.

I believe they changed the design slightly on later 1200's but, in the light of experience, I would now recommend the compact design of the Vario over a big Givi box for long-distance touring, even at the expense of a bit of space. Having to have the bolts drilled out and replaced is an expensive PITA!

A hastily grabbed few hours every two weeks, with the box containing a spare pair of gloves and a magazine to read with a coffee at Powerscourt is about the height of it at the minute! :blagblah

I had a look at them online but they won't really fit the pannier with the bit cut out for the exhaust!!
Might go for the mane event ones:thumb
Kev had them for his 1150 and they were great!!

:blast Just made aware that you're looking for pannier bags, not panniers so ignore my previous post.
Still good value, though (at the moment)
