Why?, can't you just swap the bag's to the alternate side? I did and they fitted fine

+1 worked for me been using them since 2005 on 3 GS including LC!

The sides fit fine, the new top box is bigger than the old, taller, but I still use the old inners just don't zip it up if I want to fill the box.
