VDO Readout

Had a quick ride out tonight to get a feel for my new bike and notice that in 6th gear the VDO display shows E. I assume this means error but wondered if I should worry about it and what the likely culprit is?
Any gearbox errors sounds expensive....yikes

Panic over, it stands for Economy. It's the overdrive gear

Moving through the gears my display occasionally and very fleetingly shows an 'E' between each gear.. which I imagine means error (ie gear not correctly engaged) not managed to have it showing for more than a flash in the display though.

I'm pretty sure my previous GS didn't have this - though that was the older gearbox.

Must be a bike will a "tall" 6th gear as mine displays 6 when in top. It also displays 5 when in 1st and its just started but you can't win them all.

It's very early 1150 models that show an "E", nothing to do with the high/low 6th gear ratio. Alll later bikes show 6th.

My mate thought that his display was faulty and that the bit was missing that turned the E into a 6 ..... Didn`t laugh and point when we found out
