I find this quite interesting - when this does leak - contempt of court?

But isn't it better to call out a major vulnerability today?

Will there be vehicle recalls?

There is no censorship - the researchers used illegally obtained code and the court is protecting the copyright holder.

The 'public good" has been served enough - if I drove a VW/Audi/SEAT or Skoda I'd rather the company survived than have these idiots tell the world how to steal my car then bankrupt VW Group in recalling 90+ million cars.

Giving 6 months notice is no help when there are so many cars already built.

How "Freedom of speech" comes into giving away secrets is why Bradley Manning is about to spend the rest of his life in jail.

I used to work for VW and their product is some of the most secure out there; but if someone publishes the design for Fort Knox then you can get into it.
