saw this on the BBC news website on the construction of an entire medieval castle in France using the very same techniques and materials used in the Middle Ages.
The website for the Chantier Médiéval de Guédelon has more information.
They do guided tours and there are links to food and accommodation.
Thought that I might be of interest to anyone heading to France, or if anyone fancies organising an away trip to France.
When my physio gives me a clear bill of health to ride the bike, I might head that way myself.
 
Euro-Disney did this a while back on the outskirts of Paris. I went and their castle was really good, even had a 6 foot fox that looked like Robin Hood :thumb2
