A(nother) absolute cracker is the Relais de la Voie Sacree. Located in a tiny hamlet - 4 houses - about 15 km south of Verdun. Rooms are small but new and the restaurant and breakfast outstanding. Also a top rated Logis dining experience. Top menu is €62 but for me it’s even a cut above the rest and really great. Breakfasts is a real treat as well

Cut ‘n paste from a parallel thread.

French cuisine. Formidable!

Two years ago a pal fell ill in Málaga. I flew over and drove his camper back to Hamburg. I stopped one night in a motorway service area in France and had steak frites. Fabulous! can you imagine that at a UK motorway service area?

Nearer to Verdun, on one of my Tossers' battlefield trips, we had done the sites and went for a late lunch to a restaurant.

"I am sorry m'sieur, you are too late. Maybe the chef can prepare omelettes /frites?

D'accord!

And that too was fantastic.

Looks superb
My kind of motorbike place.
Very quiet, remote and top food n drink.
Best of all - not in the UK !

I’m booking this for July next year after your previous recommendations. I’m taking three days to get to the Dolomites and this is my first overnight stop after the tunnel. Looking forward to it.

Man after my own heart....I prefer the quiet rural settings with peace and quiet, nice logis hotel with top rated restaurant. The holiday of course is the riding but the destination and after ride experience is as important.
France is great for the food and lodging and I really find the Logis website very useful

You wont be disapointed. Room rate I think was about EURO 80 per room. Bike parking is outside the hotel but there is nothing around the place so bike lock is fine. If you want you can ride up behind the accomodation onto the grassy hill right outsid the door. I've left my bike there twice overnight and no problems.
Food really is good and the breakfast is superb. Owner is a younger couple and everythnig is family run. Look forward to hearing your feedback after your trip
Just beware of the restaurant opening times - Monday and Tuesday they are closed and Sunday is a lunch service only
