Had a small problem yesterday when filling up with fuel. I turned off the ignition and removed the key, filled up and went to pay. When I got back to the bike the ignition had turned itself back on. I pressed the starter and the engined started but, I still had the key in my hand. I put the key back in the ignition and turned to the 'on' position then off and the engine stopped and the screen showed that it was going through the shutting down procedure. A few seconds later the ignition came back on it's own. Eventually I got it to shut off properly and I re-started and rode it home. Its done the same thing a few times since but, not everytime.

I phoned Wollaston's and they said they hadn't had the same fault before and said it was very strange. It's now booked in to have the ECU changed next week.

Just wondered if anyone had had anything similar.

No. The only fault so far was the tail light staying on after the engine was shut off and the key removed. I had to re-boot and switch off again for it to go off.

I noticed, on the ocassions that the ignition does turn itself on again, that when I turn the ignition off and the LCD panel is going through the shutting down procedure that the front and rear parking lights are on. When it closes down properly they aren't on. Sounds like a similar fault but, that yours has sorted itself out.

lights at ignition off - not being funny, but you haven't accidentally activated the parking lights.

A flick of the left indicator and voila, parking lights on, it happens if you hit the switch within 10 seconds of shut off.

As for the ignition...spooky, and worrying, let us know what they say

Not funny at all.....:) Thanks for that Russ, I might possibly have done. So if you have done that, does the indicator cancel switch turn them off? I know.....RTFM....:o

Dunno TBH, I just switch the ignition to on, then off again, and that clears it.

I've just tried pressing and holding buttons, but to no avail.

I presume it is designed this way as someone may intend to leave the parking lights on, and will come back to the bike the following morning to start it, thus de-activating them, also you wouldn't want some clown switching off your parking lights by accident/on purpose
