very rare part

OK, chaps. have a bit of a problem locating a gear selector switch for an 04 1200gs the D shaped one.. it would seem to be a very rare item. i have had two with same part number from motorrad and both sent back. was there a modification after 04 as they all seem to have a cable fixed to them and of course mines don't. the later does fit but not aligned for neutral, looking for advice...

BMW have on two occasions assured me that the part was the right one to no avail. two switches sent and both look same and both have different pare numbers. kinda giving up with that.. motor works have none in stock, BMW seem to be on back order with no date for delivery.. and of course £130 quid,,,fool us eh. i have made a temp repair to old one with metal insert but the plastic on switch is slowly disintegrating. so any ideas or compatible models would be helpful..

This can sometimes happen when human error is involved in updating the database, I would suggest photographing the part and emailing it to BMW UK for identification, and/or taking the part to your dealership for them to identify.
Once they have something to compare their stock to, it may all get sorted.

Yep Mikey that looks very much like the part i have even compared the paint dot and seems to be in same place..part number that BM are saying for this bike is not that one tho.. not a strange thing tho.. can a deal be done here or what ?? if so pm me. thanks guys once again better than the information from the dealers,,
