Watching the local news this evening the lead story was dedicated to the Iris Robinson carry on, not that a policeman is fighting for his life after a bomb was placed under his car

That dreadful attempt at murder should be more important than giving airtime to all the political parties to attempt to score points of each other :rob

I totally agree, Mandy.....

.....makes you wonder if there's any compassion left in the world.....:(

That is depressing. I hope the poor man is ok.

When all these fine politicians look back on what they have achieved in the past 30 years, it is not a great legacy. So many lives for things that should have been solved at a table.

It truely is a sad day when some sallacious gossip over some middle aged woman and her teenage 'lover' gets headline billing.

However, do you think it would have if it wasn't for the £50,000 that was handed to the nineteen year old?......:nenau...Plus, didn't this all allegedly happen about 2 years ago....hardly 'news' is it, if that's the case....
Bloody politicians............

So sad that it reflects the world we live in, the people we are and our preoccupation with scandal and titillation.

My thoughts go to the policeman and his family and my hopes are for his speedy recovery and the further isolation of the terrorists who perpetrate these awful crimes.

You can tell your friends that the normal folk would rather know how is man is doing and his family are coping, not how these other gobshits got 50 grand for doing whatever they did or say they didn't do........

:aidan

Couldn't agree with you more.

Hope the guy recovers fully.

I can remember it being such a familiar story on radio and TV when I was going to school in the 80's. Those long distance telephoto scenes of police checking out a scene with the commentary about some bombing or a body found on roadside. People wold want to be stupid to go back to that crap. I'm sure the majority of folk appreciate the ability to have relatively normal lives. Peopole trying to tear apart the fabric of society with this stuff should be shown no sympathy when caught and should be ostracised by society.
