Very sexy stainless lower engine cover

Ta

Ta Bobbyspit geezer, that`s good of you and will help - I`d be happy to make a bespoke one for you anyway.

the problem is with clamping under the beak - if you can come up with some ideas I`d be pleased to consider them.

Mark,
Are you considering making any heavy duty rocker cover guards in the near future ?

Only I seem to have broken the LHS one on me GSA along with me ankle on my recent trip to France :(
Got some nice titanium plating to me ankle sorted, care of NHS, but the BMW original guards don't seem up to the job
All the other stuff worked a treat BTW:thumb2

Regards,
Mick

I have rigged up a mild steel set up which I am playing about with at the moment, (photos to follow) this is fitted quite easily with the use of a spacing washer and then the angle of the bend brings it down and out (a bit like the photo) bringing the bracket away from the GS frame and allowing my lights to be fitted.

Once complete I will post photos and email you the drawings. Really simple set up which is sturdy and shake free.

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ - guys - just a wee thought - if you fit any of these non approved bmw accessories not to mention having no TUV rating - would this have any effect on your very expensive BMW motorcycle two year warranty - in particular would the crud catcher inhibit the cooling of air around your very nicely visually appointed belt cover - having attended many BMW rallys over the years it is evident that BMW do not approve afterfit products outwith the official BMW accessory range - just a thought ;)

Don't fret now. My local Motorrad dealer recommends the CrudCatcher to purchasers of all there new and used GS's.
Indeed almost every GS i've seen in the showroom, awaiting collection by there new owners, have had them fitted.

Get a life;)

If you dont want to fit his parts dont buy em, i dont have any , but if i did i would not worry, only reason why BMW dont approve non BMW parts is a commercial one , nothing to do with TUV.

i have done CAPA , FAI and LCC and RAMS on lots of parts which are not TUV approved, for which i bet you do not know what i am talking about you jobs worth :thumb2

Ref crud catcher i'm sure there is enough air throughput but maybe you could buy one , fit it , monitor the ambient temp and engine temp over a 2 year period and report back on your findings ......................

So buy or not buy his bits but why post crap comments like that, its an individual choice, i assume you only buy TUV approved genuine BMW items :)

I believe Mark has a good working relationship with Park Lane BMW in London, and by the sound of it a similar relationship with the Bristol BMW dealer(?)

I think some BMW dealers recommend certain after market products and companies...my first dealer rated anything Wunderlich, Touratech is placed in many a showroom, and when I was in Glasgow their dealer had a thorough display of locally produced Alder products.

I think the guidelines would be determined by quality.

I wouldn't doubt the quality of Mark's products....I'd guess if he was to replicate a few Touratech and Wunderlich products he would far far exceed their products.

I'm not sure why you seem to have taken objection to either Mark, or his products?.....I don't know the fella...but can only praise him for every aspect of my purchases...from the communication, commitment, and quality of his products, and his attitude to them.

I gather he's not adverse to input into his products, or suggestions for improvements and suggestions, as the overall product and customer satisfaction means a lot to him....and I think he ought to be applauded for that. :thumb2

However I think a vendeta is well out of order.

What a great service

Ordered my Crudcatcher yesterday, just after 12 noon, arrived this morning.

Brilliant

Thanks Mark

ps

Do you or are you considering fabricating some floats for the GS so we can get through this torrential rain we are having?

Light bracket wanted...

Hi guys.
I have a 4 week old GSA. I fitted Marks front cover crud catcher(purchased off eBay) great effective piece I'd kit.
I have fitted a full HiD kit but want to fit some Hella micro DE hid spotlights above the standard adventure fog lights, so need a mounting bracket.
Keep me informed please. :beerjug:

Hi Mark, not sure if you remember, but I tried to buy a R1200 gs front engine plate from you a year or so back. I live in Adelaide, Australia, and the bloody thing never arrived. You were great about the whole thing, and I said I'd get it off you next time I was in the UK. Well the time has come around, I'll be there from the 5th of July for a week or so. How do I go about re-ordering, and paying, and what'd it cost now to get sent to a French Address (bike trip to Spain)?

Mate, I presume I would have given you a full refund? If so simply paypal me on [email protected] for the cost of the plate plus, say, a tenner for postage to France and I`ll get it sorted. Please put on the notes to seller what you want and the `window` you want it to arrive during and hopefully i`ll do the rest. yeah - Oz - another client said that he didn`t get the part (I sent it) so I sent another one by courier at my cost (feck - you woundn`t believe how much) but he got it and I maintained my reputation - next day he got the first one :blast

Best regards.

Mark.

IMO Mark talks straight - bought a crudcatcher for my RT when they first came out but failed to fit it. Two years on I found the mounting bolts were the wrong ones. No sweat, one phone call and Mark had the correct kit in the first class mail with apologies

Why do so many other enterprises wriggle, squirm, piss you about and quote the small print :rob

Good on you Mark

Because they don`t actually care and, most possibly, have not been bikers all their lives.

Thank you for your kind words. I don`t believe in warranty periods - I think if you feel about what you do it doesn`t matter when a customer comes back to you - as long as the request is not unreasonable then it should get sorted.

Don`t forget to wipe the plate with some WD40 - it keeps it looking great.

Hi Mark, thanks for posting your reply, not sure what we did but am sure you woulda looked after us. Mate, it's real short notice, not sure if it can be done...
I will be in France between the 6th and 13th July, could you get a standard 2006 GS crud catcher to me in time? Also I couldn't see how much - got the ten pound postage bit, and the paypal bit, but how much for the actual crud-catcher mate?
Thanks

You need to do this

right mate - you need to do this. The crud is £43.98 so if you send £53.98 to me via paypal at [email protected] that will sort it.

More importantly you need to put all the information in the `notes to seller` - what I need is confirmation of model R1200GS or R1200GSA and I also need the full French address including a contact telephone number if possible. The tenner only covers for normal mail but if I get a little nervous I will send it by overseas recorded delivery to make sure it arrives (I`ll meet the extra cost). Also in the notes to seller remind me of the delivery `window`

Ok?
