600 miles on my new 1200GS - wierd as all hell after an R1. Mostly in a good way. Country lanes have become fun and exploring and escaping have replaced the perpetual urge to wheelie or scrape my knee - it was about time. The problem with a sports bike is that they make no sense unless you drive them hard. And that makes no sense on the roads in the UK.
But a few things I have noticed. The first is the screen vibrates horribly below 3k. And second, there is a metallic knocking from the shaft drive occasionally. And thirdly the motor stumbles on over-run and neutral throttle settings.
But what a bike..

Remove the front screen mounting bolts. Remove the black plastic things they screw into (which slide into the tube thingy). Wrap the pins of the plastic doo-dahs with PTFE tape and reinsert them into the tube snugly so they dont rattle.

Mine did that simple answer was to set the side adj. one notch different on either side, it applies a little tension , if worried swap sides now and again............Mike.

Thanks for the helpful replies. The over-run tickover lumpiness I see is the subject of another thread. More stuff to process and ruminate..
