hi,
the vibes from my bike seem to have got worse, i cruise @90ish for 70 motorway miles aday and it's becoming very tedious. Any way to make things better or is this just part of gs life?

also the abs warning light often reads a fault on start up and i have to switch on and off to correct?

cheers

1) Balance the throttles, see previous threads.

2) Charge your battery, see previous threads

inshed, regarding the abs, switch on your ignition for about 10-20 seconds b4 pressing the start button. If that doesnt work then either do what timolgra said or ride for a couple of miles, stop, turn ignition off then on and press the start button.
As for the vibes,I agree with timolgra here.

If I may add to the previous two replies.

When you balance the throttle bodies off idle it may help if they are balanced at the rpm that equates to a road speed of 90mph.

I used to get regular abs faults until I started to kept my battery on a Accumate charger/tender whenever the bike was in my garage. Don't think it's faulted once since then.

Boxer, yes I agree. See how they are at idle but adjust at around 4000rpm.

Re: balancing

:) How do i balance my throttles in between the services? Can i use the Morgan Carbtune. I'm not mechanically illiterate so only basic info needed. Many thanks in advance
Sherpa;)

I feel it is always best to set the valve clearances (cold engine) before balancing throttles.
Don't know about Morgan carb tune, although it sounds about right, I use a pair of high quality and dampened 'Davida' vacuum gauges. Just be sure to check after tightening the RH cable lock nut, the balance is sensitive to the slightest variation on this nut.

HERE

Under tech clk on R1100 tech articles and under Fuel System and Tuning you'll find several how to's.

The Morgans carbtune might not be the tool of choice but I get good results with it.
