Vibration causing accessory failure?

Georgia & I both have oil cooler guards & headlight protectors fitted to our R1200GS's.
Saw Georgia's oil cooler guard was missing mid way 'thru a run out yesterday, it suffered a mounting point fracture on one side, dropped down rubbed against mudguard & fork bridge
(marking both badly, fortunately it hadnt touched brake line) before the other side mounting gave way.
This morning noticed my h/light guard was sitting low on l/hand side.. checked & found l/h mount had fractured at point just to the front of indicator stalk.
If you have either be worth checking & possibly considering fitting rubber washer's to mounting points as IMO problem caused by vibration (could be why so many reports of fork bridge bolts coming slack??)

What make were your oil cooler guards.

I've had my Reyno one on and off a few times and not noticed any problem.

See you should only fit BMW approved accessories - it says so in the manual ;-)

how does one know whats an approved part, if the dealer sells you the part one would assume the part is ok , why would your dealer sell you a part or accessory that is not ,what about customer care!
bmw recommends castrol oil , it is not named " gastrol bmw oil", so isnt selling other products for the bike that do not have the bmw name also a recommendation?
