Bit of a subjective one this... But it has me thinking each morning...

I seem to suffer much more from vibration through the bars on my morning commute than on my way home.... I ride a 2011 GSA with a full Akro system on it.

I do the same route each day 35 miles fast roads (85 ish) then 12 miles in heavy London traffic....

Is it me....

I know I risk a lot of p*** taking but it seems buzzy in the morning and smooth in the evening...

Thanks

different tarmac on each side of the road?:toungincheek

temperature differences affecting tyre pressures?

higher blood pressure in the evening/morning?

psychological, looking for an excuse to turn round and go home?

If it's cooler in the mornings, the air will be denser. You have done something to ensure the fuelling's not too lean with your full exhaust system fitted, haven't you....?

thanks now iam confused i thought when colder air in morning the bike runs a bit richer and in the afternoon a bit leaner
is'nt that what the booster plug dose.

Bloody hell I thought it was only me and was too scared to post anything

In the morning I too get more vibrations, not through the bars but the hugger vibrates on the swing arm but when the bike warms up it goes and never vibrates on the way home:comfort

The booster plug offsets the temperature that the ecu sees so it thinks its cooler and ads more fuel. You didn't say you have one and because you have changed your exhaust your engine is running weaker anyway. I am not saying your engine is about to blow up or anything but the fact remains its running weaker because of the exhaust and its more noticeable in the morning with the cold dense air making it even weaker. You have moved it closer to the edge of where it can compensate is all. A booster plug may help you get it nearer to where it should be. you could also fit a power commander or get it remapped. Of course you could leave it alone and put up with slightly more vibration when its colder.

Id love to know by what mechanism a weak mixture would increase vibration (assuming it's weaker on both sides, as it would be with differing air density)?

Thanks for your replies, glad I am not the only one to feel this phenomenon.

I have now removed the circular baffle from the end of the Akro can, and it does seem to have reduced the vibration a little in the morning. The system is the full on loud one, I am now considering a power commander to see if I can eliminate it all together.

I do a reasonable mileage so it might even improve fuel economy too!! And pay for itself and the bike and ..... :blagblah

I will stop now just glad I am not the only nutter on here:thumb2
