A friend of mine has a 2014 1200 GS LC which has developed a bad vibration through the footpads, seat and handlebars.
The vibration is present at low speeds and increases significantly at around 3000rpm. It doesn't matter which gear is selected and up to around 50 the vibration is still significant but changes to a 'buzzing around 60mph. Obviously he is now restricting speed and use of the bike.
Both brakes are fine, tyres are good and balanced and no apparent oil leaks from final drive etc.
He has booked bike into Jeffries but cannot get it in before 31st May so i ask if anyone has had any experience of a similar issue.
It has been suggested that it may be an engine programming issue and again any views would be appreciated

If it has developed the problem then presumably it was ok before, so something has gone wrong. It won't be engine programming because that doesn't change. Best leave it until the dealer has looked at the problem.

Engine bars were fitted from new and as it is a new issue it is unlikely to be the root of the problem.
As already stated, let the dealer have a look.
Thanks guys

Does the vibration only occur when travelling,?
If its noteable stationary the engine may be the source,
what tyres are fitted? Is there any feathering of the tread, are they new,
I have had a bit of vibration through the pegs when the tread feather/ scallops
Mainly the rear,
even when new the pr4 caused a similar vibration and tyre noize howl that felt like transmission / engine vibration on certain surfaces, only at a certain speed,
Its not been to the point of concern, especially with the state of the roads,
Not saying its the same and agree to be cautious until sure whats causing it,
Roamer
