Vibration!

Well, I've had my 1150adv se about a month now and put 2,500k on it.

It's a great bike and I love riding it, but something is bothering me. It's got a horrible intermittent vibration when in 4th gear. All the rest of the gears are fine, very smooth. No matter how fast you are travelling, be it 40, 50 or 60mph this 'buzzy' vibration is still there.

I noticed it within a few days of riding it. I thought I'd give it a few thousand miles and see if it went away.....it hasn't!

I rang the dealer today and it's in next Tuesday.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Good bit of valve adjustment and throttle balancing when it' sserviced should sort that out . They all do that

Well that's put my mind at rest a little, I hope you're right.

I must admit, I'm looking forward to piling a few more miles on it, I hate that 'new feeling' to motors!

Only another 15-20K to go! But nice to have something that gets better as the miles go by.

The bike went in this morning, the mechanic took the bike for a spin and agreed there is something a miss with 4th gear.

So, the options are; they could open the box up and have a look what's going on now or give it a few more thousand miles and see if it smooths out.

I have agreed to give it until it's 6k service to see what happens. It's going to get either better or worse......we shall see!

I must admit that I would have gone for the open the box up option. It's a brand new bike and the mechanic has said there is something not right.

Hope it sorts itself out though.

Cheers Jon, I know what you're saying but you sometimes when things are taken apart they never seem to go back together again properly, plus I can't stop riding the bloody thing!
