Not had my gsa very long but it seems to have a vibration but only comes in at 5000rpm you can ride throuh it but starting to get to me can anybody help or is this how they are

Usually it's normal to have some vibes on 5K till redline on pre 1200 generation oilheads, i think the new 1200's are more freely revving on high rpms, but are less "peaky" on low indeed, previous 11xx'es are bit more beasty low rpm animals from my experience. Vibrations on 5K+ are probably normal output of crankshaft balancing thingy on boxer, built-in character :D

What usually helps a bit, is syncing your throttle bodyes on those rpms too.

Mine (2002 single spark - 17000 miles) has been doing this for the last few thou miles.

Even a super accurate valve adjust and throttle body balance (around 5000 under load with twinmax on tank) hasn't completely cured it. I have even been around the bike tightening things up in an attempt to sort it.

Problem is when you have ridden it like this for a bit, you forget how smooth it has been - but Im sure it used to be a lot smoother than this through 5000.

If you find an answer, let me know....

Fek me - just found the reason for my vibes. Close Inspection of the fitted Wunderlich crash bars - I found that one of the side bars had snapped close to the mount point (at the right side main stand)

The crack was so thin it was hard to spot visually. The only reason I became suspicious was a rattle / tinny sound when I slapped the bars.

Never dropped the bike on these bars so It must be down to vibes or tightened tension.

This is the second set of crashbars to fail - the last were H and B which in fairness cracked because of several drops - but the rattle / vibes they created after failure were obvious - unlike these.

Its now a completely different bike - smooth all through the rev range. Can't believe how badly this had affected the bike and how long I have put up with it for.

Id suggest anyone with vibe probs check thier crashbars closely......
