Just had a test spin with a new 1250GS as I am planning an update from my 2008 1200GS. Unfortunately it had bad vibrations and my hands had a tingling feeling after 15 minutes at motorway speeds. The vibrations are noticed also in the bum (standard seat).
Yes, the old 1200GS also has vibrations but some kind of softer vibrations and I don't have this tingling feeling even after a full day in the saddle on this old mate.
Yes, I am sensitive to vibrations thanks to arthritis.
Could it be that I got a test spin on a dodgy individual? Or does the 1250 generally have more vibrations?

Thanks for your experiences

My 2 day test on a 1250 was vibration free, a step up from my 1200lc but the cost to change was to much to swallow for me

I've done a few big days on mine (600+ miles) and no problems with vibes.

Vibes

I rode a demo 1250 gs a couple of weeks ago and it had unpleasant vibes cruising between 4 - 5000 revs. A longer ride would have effected the feeling in my hands. I could also feel some through the footrests. I rode one last year that was much smoother. It puts me off buying one and certainly a new one. I would want to ride the bike to check its not a bad one before buying.

No vibrations at all on mine, OP , I would suggest trying the same model at another dealers to compare before you part with your hard earned .

"They all do that sir". It must be true I read it on here.

The 1250 is the smoothest twin I have ever ridden...The R1100S above 4500rpm had unpleasant vibes that could be felt in the pegs.Of course after a short 15 min testride coming from an old hexhead it will feel different but riding the 1250 for a week or so all will be fine as all you feel will be some power pulses.,nothing unpleasant at all.But of course a big twin with 2 103mm pistons will never be as smooth as a K 1600 with a 1600 cc inline-6 that has no vibration at all...:D

Thanks all for sharing your experiences.
Yes, I had the same bad vibrations at 4-5000 revs while cruising at motorway speed as shez1.
No, I don't expect a vibration free bike. Its just the character of these vibes that is different. My hexhead does more shake than vibrate. ;)

i have just done 500 miles on mine and no issues with vibes

I rode a sportsbike (still do) which was creamy smooth and never got on with the boxer until
I tried (then bought) a 1250GSA. I find no real vibes but not that different bikes seem to be ‘different’. I agree with earlier posts, ride another test bike and see how it is.

less vibes than my 1200

I just went from a 2018 1200 to new 1250 and i would say that it has less vibes than my 1200. My 1200 did have noticeable vibes at 80mph, (78 or 82 mph was okay, so it just meant I didn't sit at 80 ;-) ) but my 1250 doesn't have any noticeable vibes anywhere.

I did go from a Rallye to an Exclusive, so maybe that also had an influence ?

Just traded my 2009 against a new Exclusive. Still running in so limited to 5000 at the minute but can't say I have noticed any vibes at all.
