Thinking of videoing this years trips, one to Marrakesh and one Italy trip. SWMBO will be on pillion and wants to video stuff.
Can anyone recommend a decent camera, loads of memory and not (much) affected by vibes.
Cheers

The wifey wanted to do the same last rear around the alps and Austria:bounce1:bounce1. We took a hand held video camera and my kodak Digi v610 which has video capability. The results were very different. The best footage was from the Kodak, the picture was clearer and more stable whilst the video recorder was jumpy(I did put stability control thingy on, but every time ewe turn the vid off ewe have to select it again:blast which was fiddley with gloves on). We think the kodak was easier to manage and lighter to hold whilst on the move, as wifey needs to hang on don't forget:augie:augie. (braking heavy into hairpins and giving it a handful coming out etc)
If you go for the helmet/fixed camera option, ewe may get a better set up, but ewe may loose the views of the landscape and scenery that will be to the left or the right and plus the wifey will have nowt to do. Plus at the end of the trip it will be all her own work and let me tell ewe, that fact alone will get her to get yer mates to watch the Video :augie

Edit- my kodak took SD cards. Next time I am going to take dedicated video and photo SD cards. As a 2Gig card takes one hour of footage alone, so it will be easier to edit the footage on your return.

we used the sony SR7 HD hardisc unit 20 hours of recording with an extra wide angle adaptor it reduces the camera shake effect but can make the cameraman motion sick. It's something that takes a bit of practise while the cops aint watching:augie

best of luck

and remember to stop throw the camera burd out then back up round the corner and make the bend again so you have a variety of angles the more angles you have the better it is to cut into cool bit of video:thumb2

cos POV (point of view) is boring....:augie

do some dutch tilts and the MTV roll can work as well.:thumb2

I use a dogcam sport system and it is rather fine if pricey. Good quality vid but all POV. Can move between helmet and bike mounted for variety
