Just a fun thread to show some videos of riding your GS.

I took this a couple weeks ago on this amazing road called the Oxley Highway. In the super safety nanny state we have here this road is a treasure as it's nearly all a 100kph zone yet very tight. Many of the corners are labeled 25kph so quite technical

I saw a guy on a Fireblade behind me so I moved over to let him go by. I could keep up for a while but had to let him go in the end.

Nice, looks similar to areas of Spain, reminds me of the Ronda/Malaga route..
Visiting Sydney end of October, seeing this may try hire a Gs for a day.

This road is about 400klms north from Sydney but well worth the trip

Wanted to ask location, I'm in Noosa north of Sunshine Coast for a couple of weeks prior to Sydney, a bit more free time so I'll check out bike hire. I can take jacket etc but will need to buy/hire helmet

This road is much closer to Sydney and called the Putty Rd. You could do this road if you hired a bike for a day

Nice videos, what's your set-up ?

Cheers. GoPro Session mounted under the right indicator and I use the remote strapped to the base of the right mirror. Both are powered off a dual USB charger

I used an HD Ghost the last few years and have just bought an HD Bullet biker pro, but think it's really designed to continuously film in case of accident. I fancy the Garmin VIRB which has built in sat nav so has an on screen display with altitude, location etc.

I spent sometime in NSW between Sydney & The Hunter valley especially Newcastle for work at Coal mines. It's pretty tough for my contacts right now so it's unlikely I'm going to visiting in the foreseeable. In about 1994, Before we were married we toured Port Stephens and the Hunter Valley by car and drove from there to Campbeltown as I was working at Wollondilly.

If I make it back I will be hoping to hire a bike.

Hope the weather isn't too bad.

Same reason I bought the Session and mainly use it on a 20min loop. I wanted a helmet mounted camera but like everything else in this country it's illegal. Super nanny state here...

My brother worked in the mines up that way and had to change work.

I think helmet mounted videos tend to be more jerky and clearly there are safer places to mount a camera.

You see a lot over here.

Do you carry a few spare memory cards or upload to your phone ?

True and good point.

I use a 64GB card so hold a fair amount. On long trips I bring my 12" Macbook Air anyway so if I need to delete anything I download it first.

Can't imagine you get a lot of dust storms in the UK but in outback Australia we do get them. Doesnt look that bad on the camera but I couldn't see a damn thing with all the shit in my eyes and the wind was mental.

Five days of riding in 38c heat but loved it

38 c very rare in the UK, might have happened last year, not sure. We don't get dust storms that I know of, although it's probably possible in the East where theres a lot of arable. Occasionally we get Saharan dessert sand carried by clouds deposit orange crap on us, usually only visible on the cars.

At present its 14-22 with very heavy rain showers.

We had a very hot summer this year and not too much rain. The middle is usually quite dry anyway so add in farming then wind you get dust storms.

20c here today and overcast but it's winter now. I don't know how you guys cope with your weather.

I'm half tempted to get a bike mounted camera, to record on a loop, just in case. How are you getting on with the HD Bullet biker pro?
