Vienna and Back

And then home over 2 days stopping in the Auberge La Cholotte near Saint Die- again highly recommended and the Campanile in Compiegne (functional). Following recommendations from this site we stopped at the Chateau de Haut-Kœnigsbourg. It is impressive. Though I was less impressed when I found out it was a reconstruction from before WW1 the information on how they achieved the rebuild is interesting. I particularly liked the explanation that they were able to achieve it in a relatively short timeframe (9 years) due to the combination of political will, sufficient resources and plentiful labour - a lesson for all large infrastructure projects.

As mentioned in earlier posts I'll load go pro and drone vids to this polar step book.

In short great trip and the experiences of the UKGSER Hive mind in planning my route was much appreciated. Hopefully some of the above will inform others for theirs.
