...well had the 1200 for a couple of weeks now,the bikes great to ride and I must admit the looks are now starting to grow on me - bit like when I changed from 1100 to 1150.
So far fitted a tank cover which fits well and makes riding feel more like when on 1150 as the knees grip against the side. Also fitted a new Magnum 80 horn which was nice and easy to fit.Ordered it yesterday at 4pm,it arrived 8.30 this morning and fitted by 9.30.Thanks to Motorcade (0260 271741) for great service.

blue 1200

Interesting on the horn - the OE one is so weedy - it also flashes on and off bright orange on the left side of the bike (well, whenever I try to hit the horn, it does!).
What does it sound like, how much replace the OE one or additional etc etc.
More info SVP.

....if you contact number shown speak to a very helpful guy,as said got the horn next day total cost was £12.00.Horn (Magnum 80)is £9.99 +postage.
Its straight forward to remove the standard on,and fit new one.Just contected onto exsisting cables and left exsisting connection block.
Took in total about 25 minutes to fit,and sounds a hell of alot louder than the standards horn squek !!

blue 1200 - that can be heard

Steve, finally got round to ringing about that Horn - no such number as 0260-271741.
Can you please check the number and let me know if it is different?

Steve, my Magnum arrived this morning. The connector block on the bike won't fit the horn. Did you remove the connector block and put two connectors on to the wires or what ?

Thanks.

Parky, what's the latest? I still haven't got anyone to answer the phone at Motorcade, but was wondering if you resolved the connecting issue with your horn?
Pete

connect...

If you have yet to fit horn.....what I did was leave connector but use connectors that grimp onto the cable. There is enough room to do this although a touch fidley if you have big hands like me ! I taped up the old connector block and secured it with a cable tie to frame. Hope this helps ?

Steve. Thanks, I haven't done it yet, but will do when I get some free time. Did you use Scotchloks ? There seems to be a bit of a debate about how good/reliable they are.

Pete. Still not fitted it... I got through to Motorcade first time though, really helpful bloke there, paid my £12 and it arrived in the post the next day !

.....???

Yes ....Think thats what they are called (open connector put in bikes cable - uncut, then short cable with spade connector on end close with aid of pliers or grips connect spade to horn).I then taped up just in case and beep beep.
So far so good bikes been wet and washed a few times with no problems.

If you use the correct size scotchlock (sp?) for the wire they are pretty reliable. I've used tham in a anumber of things for years and none have failed or gotten flakey. Having said that, I would not use them on a critical system.

It isn't all that much more work to buy bullet connectors and crimping pliers for them and make a proper job of it, but you needn't fear sctochlocks.
