Go into Vines almost 2 sundays ago. Says to the salesbod...."Right. Wanna make a sale? Give me £5200 on my 2001 15000mile GS 1150 and throw in a Givi rack and i'll do the deal now" A bit bemused, sales bod phones senior sales bod at home and agrees price. I then say , just to make sure, i want to test their 12GS for an hour or so. No probs....out it comes, all fuelled and ready to go.
Come back after a while, sit down with salesbod, discuss colour option, and decide to go for the fastest colour, Red/Black/Black. ABS and Htd grips, no alarm.

No probs he says. Oh, I want it by middle of Maylatest i say...going to France in June. Still no probs.

On The Monday, get a call, all they can get is the fastest colour with goodies wanted but with alarm. Concede this point, and say yes.

Get my bike sold the following Saturday (result), pay over lots of money and collect bike last Wednesday. Thursday, off up to Rockinghham, courtesy of Vines, and run it in on the track!!!!!

Top, top, top service. Well pleased so far. And yes, 5 times better than the 1150:yelrotflm :wave

Took a friend to Vines for him to explore BMs (he has a V-Strom). Whilst on the ferry he was examining my GS and asking lots of questions. He then noticed I had a plug in my rear tyre. I had bought the bike from Vines four months before. I had not had a puncture. I know, I know! I should have noticed it myself! When we got there I told them the story. They said they believed me. They did not try to suggest that I'd had a puncture and plugged it and was trying to get a new tyre (although that would have been a perfectly reasonable assumption). They fitted a new one there and then - no charge. TOP SERVICE! I can't praise them enough.. Every time I go in they're pleasant and helpful. Highly recommended.

I haven`t bought a bike from them, but have done PIG ROASTS for them.

Noticed one thing the customer service and service dept do exactly that, give both with lusto.

They stay with the customer none of this walking off in the other direction to talk to a nother member of staff.

Very good shop floor service.

But not a dealer user, not yet anyway.

I bought my GS from them. Unfortuantely had to use them for warrenty work and customer service is *always* superb. I travel from Bromley and bypass SLM to use them.

Martin Pullen, their Sales Manager left last week to the dark side (Honda) ;) but I doon't see that changing anything as i've always had excellent service from the other staff in there.

Penny in clothing/parts is very helpful and knowledgable too.

Duncan was going to bring some bikes along to PIG ROAST for us to demo, but he has pulled out because its SPC`s patch.

Shame, real shame.

Well what can I say,
Went to BMW Park Lane asked for a price on a new Adventure with all the bells and whistles. Got a quote and then asked what sort of deal could get and when could I have it in Black..........................
Answer ?
'When you come to signing a cheque then we can talk deals and if you want it in black it will be the end of June'

So couple of guys at work who have bought from Vines suggested I ought to go down there and see what they could do.

Popped down there spoke to Duncan, told him what I wanted. To start with he said don't buy the BMW fogs as they arent worth the money. Buy a set from Nippys or Touratech. Also adivsed me that there was no need to spend the extra money on a Thatcham approved alarm as the extra cost for the alarm was far more than the saving on the insurance.
All very refreshing, and the next thing he said was @I think we can probably manage to drop about £500 of there to start with and if I wanted it in Black I could have it in about a week.

So no guessing where I bought my new bike from !!!!

Dealt with Mike down there and other than a slight problem with the Remus exhaust (it didn't come in to stock in time, but will be fitted on the 600 service on monday) a thoroughly enjoyable purchasing experience.

Thank you Vines for being nice people to deal with and very honest, rather than taking the attitude, 'If you are a buying
a BMW you can afford to play the full price'
