Virgin Tour

Hiya All

Going on my first bike tour in the UK in about a month... Getting to Heysham from the Isle of Man and then pottering around for two weeks I want to avoid all cities and motorways, so does anyone have any places which they'd recommend I visit?

Nice scenery, quiet villages etc are my scene & I'll have my camping gear with me so I'm not bothered about expensive hotels or the like, but good B&B's would be nice in case I can't outrun the typical British weather!

GPS points would be good as I'm giving my Garmin it's first run as well as me

Yorkshire and Cumbria, obviously.

I did a eurotour recently; the best bit of 'kit' I took was rubble sacks to keep everything really dry, and a camp stove. I ran out of money and ate my last can of Ravioli on a bench near the Santander ferry port

I wish I'd taken my heated jacket, and some lip balm. That may have been a bit though..

I would ask if any you "other mainland" GS'ers wanna meet up, but to be honest, I have no idea when and where I'll be at ony point in time... which personally, I like!!

Not the bit about being unable to meet any of ya, but the fact that I've got two weeks of no plans
