Amongst the stuff I have been leafing through that came with my 2nd hand Mac is a copy of the above, but seemingly with no key.

Is that a dead loss then, or is there a way forward? If so, is there and freeware version known to anyone?

Would be handy to have, as I can then update my roadangel (the dozy twots not supporting Mac as yet)!

Cheers.

Actually, that'd be really useful for me too Margus - any chance of a copy of what you've sent? :thumb

What version you have? 6 or 7?

Altough i find the VPC a bit too stupid option to run on mac, but some people do need and are forced to work with very rare apps that are for Windows only, but everything they else they prefer MacOS, i think only those people need VPC. Tho 98% of the apps have the same or alternatives for MacOS. So i say if you don't need it then save your HD space and most of all save your own nerves like i do - Windows sucks big time IMHO if doing creative (multimedia) work - altough if it crashes on VPC on mac then you just have to close the window and restart the app, not the computer ;)

One day this will free the poor and feeble minded from beautifully designed but badly performing hardware :D

Until then I'll stick with my G4 laptop (running Virtual PC for the messy stuff) and my Athlon desktop (running Virtual PC for the really messy stuff...)

Thanks guys, especially Tsiko't - now sorted.

It's just that some stuff I have doesn't have Mac alternatives - Nuvo MP3 player software, for instance (itunes won't cut it with some of the stuff already on there - doesn't recognise names etc - fine for new additions though), and Roadangel, to name two. Plus some mapping stuff I have.

My problem's an industry-specific bit of software called PR Planner - basically a feckin big, regularly-updated directory of all UK publications. It fills in the gaps in your own contact book and is very handy indeed. PC only - despite vast numbers of PRs and lobbying types are Maccies...
