.No doubt you see far more tootling along on a wee trial bike.
Here's a few more photos,My mate bean was on the yellow DRZ.Both bikes were spot on,plenty of stops as the seats are'nt that comfy! We stayed in b+b so took hardly any luggage,mostly tools/puncture repair stuff, none of which we needed .

Fantastic - I'd love to do that trip. I did a small version off road some years over 3 days and love it. I used a 125 which was ideal. I'd be interested in hearing how you got on with landowners, gates etc.....

I'd love to do a trip like that. Green lanes are a bit few and far between down here.
Small bike definately makes it far more interesting,funny too,anytime we stopped whether for fuel or something to eat,folk would check out the bikes ask about them etc.They just blanked the normal run of the mill bland tourers.
Gates and owners were no problem,also used a few 'alternative tracks' everybody we met were spot on.
Saying that i do have a few contacts which obviously made things easier.
The next trip i will camp as there were a few great places to spend the night,do a bit of fishing.
It may be the middle of summer but it wasn't overlay warm,but it did keep the midges away.

How tricky would the trip be on a 990 Adv, would you be willing to share the route?
You took the words out of my mouth. I recently switched to orange and really want to make a point of doing something a little different to my normal Scotland trips.
A couple of the tracks would have been tricky,but the rest would have been no problem on a bigger bike.
Not being awkward or smug,but the route is best not shared.

No problemo, if you're doing it again and you don't mind someone else tagging along. I'll bring a nice bottle of Single Malt along.

When G.C. took a few of us on a wee bimble it was on the same understanding that details etc of locations wouldn't be posted up on 'tinternet forums.....
