Visor refurb

You could try varnishing it.

Just a thought but I've used "Polywatch" to revive a couple of Shuberth Visors, worked well to remove light scratches. wouldn't go anywhere near stronger abrasives though. cheers :beerjug: John B

A few years ago a group of us went to Imola for the World Superbikes and my mate Paul had bought a new visor for the trip. We stopped for fuel in Switzerland and Paul was most unimpressed with his new visor, to quote........ "It's fucking shit". I had a quick look and then removed the inner protective film which improved things no end. :)

Thanks for all the suggestions people, after a few more polishes using headlight lens cleaner and soft buff on drill looks amazing, cheers.

The visor will not be polished at manufacture.

The cavities in the injection mould tool will be polished better than a mirror.

The injection screw and barrel will be cleaned to perfection. They will not want any cabonised imperfections in the visor moulding.

The moulding area will be absolutely clean, probably class 10,000, and the operators probably wearing lint free overalls or clothing.

That is what makes the vision area so highly finished, and the inner/outer protective film will be applied immediately.

I don't believe you. You're just saying that.
Get your wallet out and buy a new one.

If the visor is off something like a Schuberth with a factory anti scratch coating do not even bother trying, it will not work leaving it blotchy and opaque and scrap

I’ve tried plastic polish on screens with minimal success. Plastic can be polished to look smooth and visibly clear, but any polish will have some abrasive element to it. A visor may look clear, but light at an angle or night time glare may still be present making it dangerous.
I’m anal about vision, I wouldn’t even contemplate polishing it. Just get a new one for what it costs.

As you are aaaaaaaaaaaa you might want to know that the OP has not been here for a fortnight, perhaps he has crashed, or maybe the scratches prevent him from logging in for further abuse?
