Over the years I've used several brands for putting on my visor.

Some work great for 10 minutes
Some leave a milky film, meaning your view is a little hazy
some are good with heavy rain, but shit with the fine lighter stuff.

Who would recommend the brand they are using?
what's the water repellence like and how long does it last?

Speed.
My only suggestion on something that works. Tried a couple of things over the years, like you, mixed results.

I fully understand it cannot always be applicable.

Love my Held Air’n’Dry 2 in 1 gloves.

I also love them for the fact that Held do make some of their gloves in the range with short, regular and long fingers. I needed long fingered version and they just work.

I was after a set of Held short cuff Summer glove a couple of weeks ago. They do Sambia 2 in 1 in this length as well as another glove. But a do not need another 2 in 1 and the velcro fastener did not come across as substantial enough with all the bulk at the cut being accumulated.

Their pure summer Sambia range unfortunately no longer being produced with these options.

Nikwax Visor Proof is excellent, spray on polish off, lasts all day, still works for next 2 or 3 days.
However, I've not used it as much since replacing all my gloves with Held gloves, the visor wipe on the index finger is really good.

I like the Nikwax stuff too but on my new Tour-X5 I find it increases the potential for fogging, even with a pinlock. I too will stick to my wiper on my glove.

Pledge furniture polish... Works wonders... Leaves a lovely clear non fogging water repellent wax finish... Lasts for ages.

Used on screen and headlight lens as well

( must be Pledge not Mr Sheen!)

What about insects, do they still stay splattered all over the screen and visors?

Asking for a mate. :augie

I just use the CarPro Reload polish (ceramic coating). Use it for topping up car paint treatment every now and then, One spray, wipe evenly across visor, leave for 30 seconds and buff off.

Gave up on RainX years ago, think they had to stop using the ozone depleting ingredient that made it work. Likewise I’ve not found the Nikax stuff to do anything but clean and polish the visor nicely, doesn’t last 5 mins once the rain starts.

We have always used Bob Heath visor spray, which seems to deal with fogging in the wet reasonably well.

The current can is probably around 20 years old, which speaks well of the product but it will hardly make the old TT racer a fortune.

I use Nikwax. First time I used it I was riding along minding my own business when I heard tapping on my visor. What the f#ck🤔 it was rain beading off and dissappearing instantly before I could see it. Great stuff.
