Excuse me, but won't "increased flywheel mass" make it slower to pick up from low revs...or I am I just thinking of the laws of physics?

A little bit yeah, but on a big, lumpy, powerfull twin you prob won't notice toooooo much difference. What it does do though is provide more momentum to the engine; it sort of stores some of the energy and keeps things spinning round better which equals a bit smoother/ more tractable at lower revs.

Before anyone gets too excited, there is no truth in the rumour that the 2014 GS will benefit from the superior smoothness and momentum, that a larger flywheel affords to the new GSA. (I asked my dealer )

I don't think its a bike for me... I mean, its only got a 30 litre fuel tank so a downgrade from the Hexhead GSA. What on earth do BMW think they're doing making a world adventure bike with such a small tank - you'd have to fill up every 250 miles or so.

Probably solved that by fitting a 220 mile seat
