OK, so maybe I'm moody ...

I bought a new BM "Sport Integral" helmet and have one ordered for the lady. All happy so far.

I've tried to order a dark/reflective visor and am initially told by my Irish dealer via the Irish distributor that "it is illegal to sell these in the UK" and more recently, that they have been discontinued. I'm now most displeased!

Can anyone shed any light on the second point? I haven't tried calling the usual UK dealers as the "its illegal" point will kill this before it starts. Therefore, this is a plea to anyone outside the UK and Ireland who might have info, and better again, donate the names of any BM dealer who might have "old stocks".

There has to be a better answer than the first line of bull.

Thanks!

Jonny

I think he's right, my mate got his from Northern Ireland as they were not available in England.

somewhere in Jersey ...

Apparently there's a place in Jersey what sells these things (as part of a wide range of visors). I've had no joy via an internet search. Maybe someone out there has a lead...

Also, I tried a Norn Iron dealer who said the same rules applied as in the rest of UK. Looks like I've got to look to mainland Europe!

i think you will find the gentleman in jersey is called fred giles ..

I bought mine on a recent trip to Frankfurt. It makes a really big difference. It is of course stamped "for daytime use only". I'm probably going over to Munich 25/8-29/8 so if you still need one I'd be happy to pop into a dealer and get one for you.

b.t.w. The German dealer told me it will be next year before the planned reactolite visor is release for the Sportintegral.

The conclusion

A quick post to mention that I finally received the tinted visors for the Sport Integral lid from www.wuedo.de in Germany. These are a most helpful bunch and provided a happy resolution.

For info, BM Ireland could not supply these as (take your pick)

(i) the part does not exist

(ii) the part number was out of date,

(iii) the UK (from where BM Ireland gets stuff) said it was illegal to sell these.

Poor show I'm afraid.

Wuedo have loads of other OE BM goodies at good prices (compared to Ireland that is). Looks like the plastic will suffer some more.

Many thanks also to Mike for your kind offer of assistance. Any chance you might pack an full size 1100S into your suitcase on your next trip!!!
