some users have this problem but be careful not to blame the ukgser site or you'll get your 12 quid back ;)

Do a google search and you'll find lots of forums discussing similar problems: for instance http://forums.techguy.org/windows-vista/543503-slow-loading-web-pages-vista.html
Two other points a) why not just install Opera or Firefox - both are far better browsers than Internet Explorer (this may help?) and b) have read McAfee AV can cause problems on many computers - is it installed (?) if so you may want to ditch it and get something decent - like AVG. Or be really brave and ditch the whole Microsoft operating system junk you use and run Linux - Ubuntu is a great version. It's free, as is all open source software.

dump mcafee ad just keep AVG. you shouldn't really be running two AV progs at the same time anyway.

use Zone Alarm Free for firewall.

I think the interweb might be being dusted as my connection has been slow all weekend

Typical Bank Holiday usage.Newbies with the PC from Pc World.People using the net at a different time than they normally do.

I used to give up when I had Dial Up many years ago and go for a ride. Come back Monday night and alll was back to normal.

Does that make sense??

Sounds bullshit to me.

I agree. Shouldn't be using two AV progs and dumping Mcafee can only be a good thing. I have the pro version of AVG and I use Zone Alarm as a firewall.
However, I repeat .................. use Firefox - not IE - and give Linux Ubuntu or Kubuntu a try. You'll never go back to being a Bill Gates salary slave again.:rob

Should add that I dual boot Linux and Windows - on which I run AVG & ZA (unfortunately as 95% of the rest of the world are helping to make Bill very rich I have to use XP to work on some other peoples files).

now using=
Firefox,
AVG Anti virus,
Zone Alarm firewall
Thank you men :bow:bow:bow
you better be write or im comming to sit on you. :D :thumb

Thanks for the feedback.. its actually quicker today but will certainly look into other virus programs out there when i get more familiar with the pc. also got 3 months free Mcafee use so will see how it behaves during that time.

Try this...

I'm not sure if there's the same problem with Vista, but Microsoft Update completely screws many computers.

Now, this isn't Windows Update - it's the supposedly fancier all-singing. all-dancing Microsoft Update.

Bag of crap. I turned mine off, reverted to manual updates via Windows Update and the computer was back up to speed. Had this happen on three machines so far - all the same result.
