Vista Word probs

I've got Vista on my PC with no Word installed. The outcome is that I cant open any Word docs that are sent to me

Can anyone help as this is a right pain. Is buying Word the only option?? Please say no!

You could try Open Office. Not sure whether it'll open MS Word docs without converter as I've not read all of this - FAQ HERE.

Definately "Open Office", works fine for me with Vista and all MS office files.

You may well find that you don't have Office in the first place as it's unlikely that in todays market of cheaper computers and in order to save the suppliers money they don't usually give you a free copy of MS Office. Instead they give you MS Works which is basic but will not help you open MS Word docs.

If you have no joy, DON'T go buying Office, I'm sure that we could get you a copy of MS Office 2007, in fact I'm sure I could, just need DVD to copy mine and if you live where I think you do, end house opposite bottom shops I'm around there all the time and will even drop it into you.
