I have read a number of posts under the ex China banner, with interest, before pretty arbitrarily deciding to add this Two P worth on this post.
I have been considering the wisdom of a 2026 BMW F450GS, as a light weight road bike, and decided to check out the specs of ex China bikes that seem obvious competitors, power wise and near the base price of the F450GS.
So I collated info on these.
Voge DS525X – £6,199. Voge DS625X (2025) £6,199. QJMotor SRT600S – £4,699. CFMoto 450MT, £5,699.
The spec’n that is available from the ex-China bikes generally looks superb BUT if you are looking for a relatively light bike only the CFMoto 450MT is in the same parish as the F450GS – the other three are 30kg heavier.
The CFMoto is aimed at and used by folk that want a lot of off-road 21inch front wheel capability.
The BMW F450GS is pretty clearly aimed at high percentage of road use - what I want --but the price seems, as somebody posted elsewhere on here, very German.
My Unicorn might have to be a compromise.
