Evening all
Just collected a 2025 vstrom 800 de. Couple of thousand miles. When I tested the bike a couple of years back my memory was that it was silky smooth, but my new ones seems to be a bit on and off with the fuelling around town. Only slightly but noticeably more so than the himalayan 450 I just chopped in for it. Mainly below 40 mph as you open or close the throttle Any thoughts or other people's experiences much appreciated.

My fuelling has been perfect from day one . Might be the fuel in the tank as Wessie suggests

Do you have the same feeling in all three throttle response modes.
Mode A will always feel a lot more responsive than B or C especially in a stop start urban environment.

No I can feel a difference between the throttle modes, but none of them i would describe as silky smooth compared to competitors and even the himi 450. Mode C seems to smooth it out the most but there is still slight lag on opening closing the throttle at lower speeds in town.

Only ever had mine in A as it’s spot on

Teach me for buying it from fowlers Bristol meaning I can't pop back to get it double checked. Might just be me being sensitive cos the himi was very smooth .

I’d say the fuelling on my Vstrom is as good or better than on my Himmy or the one I recently rode in Himalayas

Worth getting it checked if it distracts your riding, or maybe you can ask others on this or Vstrom forums who live near you if they would be prepared to let you have a comparison ride.

I suspect you might be right when you say it might be that you’ve spent more time recently on the 450.

Always going to be a difference between rolling on the throttle on a C90 compared to a 1390 super duke 😃 no matter how good the software is to make the transition from closed to open is.

Will be interesting to hear your findings in conclusion.

Fill it with some Tesco 99 Momentum or similar and give a good Italian tune up. Maybe the ECU needs to do a bit of relearning as it has not been ridden much in the past. You may have been recalibrated by the end of the process as well!

Has yours got the OE exhaust ?
Fitted a Fuel pretty much as soon as I got it

Both mine and the other half's 800REs are silky smooth, as Wessie suggests, a full tank of the good stuff and see if the ECU relearns.

OK thanks.all ill give it a go. Oddly enough I rode it yesterday and it didn't feel on and off like it did the previous day. So its either me or something reset!
