Wanted VW Grand California 600

I wasn't sure regarding bike rack, I see that being a problem also now, there might be a way for the bikes to fit further out from the van door missing the spare wheel on other door if you was to fit. Just an option for you to consider.

The only problem with the Bike rack, (there are always problems), the Thule Elite Van XT, apart from hitting you in the back of the head when you close the door, if you are not careful, is that it has a limit of just two Bikes, (and 35kgs), and cannot be added to, (like some racks)

I understand, although never used a bike rack on our van as yet, I tend to keep my bike (1) inside.
Plenty room for me and my mountain Ev bike, useless if I have company though. Then we just hire bikes instead. :D

I also found this as an alternative for you, https://www.roofbox.co.uk/bike-carr...m_content=Tow Bar Mounting Bike Racks/Carrier

Allows for more bikes to be carried, and possible fitting of that spare wheel I mentioned.

Thanks Gee - I'll let them sort it as they take 3 or 4 bikes - I'm OK with my Brompton which being just the 2 of us so it's OK inside. I plan to take most of the Bike rack off if we use the van.
Just to note Brittany Ferries have a limit of 6 Mtres in their first price bracket for the van - over 6 mtrs and you are in the next more expensive tarrif - van is 5.98m long - rack takes it to over 6m. They apply these regs and surcharge you if you are over.
The Tunnel is 6.5m long first limit.

Lovely GC...I have a LWB crafter..and looked into this option for a bike rack alternative....
When you take the bikes of, you're only left with the ISOFix bars...
There is a fitting vid on YouTube, in German tho...

HTHs ir maybe just confuses thing👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿😇

Stick bikes in van for Ferry or Tunnel if needed, lot cheaper
