I’m selling my 2015 VW Transporter. Factory Kombi (5seats) Highline model (140bhp) manual. 108,700 miles. 11months MOT with no advisory items.
I bought this van off a member here in August. The van is a cat S, I have photos of the damage and find it unbelievable that it was written off. It had a new bonnet, slam panel, grill and bumper (sounds far worse than it actually was!)
It was a great platform and just what I wanted and planned to convert it into a camper.
I set about getting the niggles sorted, and although the van had just had a new timing belt, water pump and service before I purchased it I wanted peace of mind.
I booked it into my local VW specialist who replaced all serviceable items and fluids.
They looked over the suspension and noted that the front top mounts would benefit from replacement, so I had them replaced along with new drop links, lower arms and bushes.
The vans clutch went on the way home from the garage! It was recovered and the clutch, dual mass flywheel and hydraulic thrust bearing were replaced.
I then had EGR and DPF solutions carried out with a stage 1 map for mid range power and fuel economy.
The van then went to the body shop and had paint correction carried out, resulting in its appearance being tip top.
I fitted genuine VWAG 20” wheels with new tyres that have just about covered 1000 miles, the ride is surprisingly good.
The van benefits from AC and cruise, VW hands free phone prep. It has a VW head unit, however the ariel needs replacing, this doesn’t bother me as I connect my phone when I get in and use BBC app or Spotify. A cheap head unit with DAB would cure this very cheaply but as I said it’s no effort to use your phone.
The van is insulated and carpeted in the rear, there is wiring under the passenger captain seat to accept a leisure battery which runs extra power points in the rear, I was going to adapt this for my camper conversion.
All in all this is now a very lovely van and stands me at FAR more than I want for it (I have spent 5k on it in the past few months, but this was because it was a keeper).
Due to a sad bereavement, I have been left a fairly substantial inheritance, as such I have put a deposit down on a motorhome which will fulfill a dream of long distance travel!
My personal plate will be removed from the van prior to sale.
Any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
I will post some photos for you all to peruse.
