W2 Adventure boot

Has anybody on here have a pair of these boots? How do they compare to for example the TCX Infinity. How would you rate the boot? Just asking as I had a look at them at Infinity motorcycles and are interested in getting a pair as opposed to the Infinity.

Had a pair for about a month, done around 1000 miles I guess. Pleased though it took me a while to get used to the lack of "feel" when changing gear. Can't compare to the Infinity but they seem like a good value boot to me. Been in some pretty heavy rain and around 0 temperatures. No problems. Clips and such are a little more "free" now as they are getting worn in. Ok to walk around in but I wouldn't want to walk a few miles in them... maybe when/if they soften up a bit?. Solid. Good value.

I intended to buy some but found the leather of the uppers quite soft and the soles very pliable. That made me concerned about their levels of protection, and how comfortable the soles would be in proper off-road situations.

If anyone has experience of a day standing on footpegs that would be useful.

They're very good and I've used mine for allsorts of trails on my GSA. They are NOT motorcross boots but provide good protection for the odd bike & hedge interface.
I've also paddled my bike through knee high water and have been dry but, my trousers go over my boots.

They are a good compromise. They are not motorcross boots but they are better than road boats.
But a lot better than motorcross boots for walking around in. I really rate mine.

I use mine for guiding trail rides on my ktm so they go through some really tough use in all sorts of weather and terrain, they are a great pair of boots and as i mentioned will buy another pair when these wear out.
They are not as stiff as MX boots so you can actually walk around and get grip in muddy conditions whereas the MX boot will leave you sparwling all over the place, they offer very good protection and much more than you would think by looking at them.
I would say they are more water resistant than waterproof but the odd dap in deep water will be ok.
You wont find better boots for this money unless they are very similar like the diadora or forma.

Thanx for the replies guys. How is the W2 for walking in? I'm looking at buying one to use as a touring boot or should I look for a more road orientated boot that will have a bit more flex when walking, like if you are going to walk down the high street or to a place of interest. Basically is this a do it all boot? I know it will have shortcomings as a full off road boot.

There is a lot of good boots out there but at this price it seems to only have the TCX Infinity and SIDI Black Rain evo as competition. Best price for the W2 is £135 while the TCX goes for £170 and SIDI about £164 at best. My Alpinestars SMX-R Goretex is really good but I would like to keep it just for track days or when taking the 11S out for a spin. Maybe I should just go and buy the damn boots.

Yes you can walk around all day with no issues

If you're planning on touring in them, why go for a motocross type boot rather than a touring boot like the Daytona ? What are you going to do most of ? Is price the overriding factor here as quality beats quantity any day IMVHO.

Like most of the other kit whores on here, I have a pair of boots for touring and general use and a pair for off-road. As I do helmets and clothing. Much of it bought cheap , second-hand - although helmets new of course.

Bury_Dave this will be my general use do it all boots. I don't ride all year or put it this way, I don't ride as much during winter. Good protection with the ability to go off road when the need arise and a reasonable price. Must be able to walk in them comfortably, waterproof and grip when on/off the bike. Infinity motorcycles stock these boots and there is a few racers that uses W2 boots. The clips look like it will be easy to replace ( philips screw fastener ). I don't mind the suede look, it will wear anyway. I have read Ride product reviews and bought a few items that they recommended and never regretted it. These boots look really good value for money. Going to have a look at the Hein-Gericke version of the Infinity for a comparison. BMW is on my way there so might pop in there as well and look at the new TourShell, not that I'm buying.

Fair do's Tanneman. I suppose my thought were that i tend to know when I'm going to go off-road in advance of heading out and so wear a boot with better protection for those rides and my Daytonas for everything else as most off-road boots are built with protection over comfort. These boots may well be different.

There's also the Hebo type trials boots of course...... a good looking compromise.

For off-road I use the HG Rallye II gore tex boots and they are as good a pair of dual-purpose boots as any and comfortable as hell. Bought mine second hand off ebay for £40 and they hadn't been worn more than once. I still had to break them in . So, if budget is a concern, have patience and watch ebay

I've tried the HG Rallye 111 Gore-Tex boots and they are more suited to everyday riding. Unfortunately the front of the boot is too narrow for my flat feet. I did spend a while in them and the difference to the W2 Adventure boot is immediately noticeable. The W2 is a bit stiffer in the calf area thanx to an extra clip and you can feel the sole is more rigid because of the steel insert. To me it seems the Infinity will not need a lot of time to break in and you can get on the bike with it straight after buying it. The W2 however might require you to adopt a different style for changing gear till it's broken in or you have gotten used to the feel of the boot. For now I give the W2 Adventure a nod and I'll see how I get on with it.

Not had my W2's long and immediately found mods had to be undertaken i.e the gear shift has had to be raised a notch or two. Still not ideal yet so will prob adapt the lever to suit.
Other than that, extreme comfort.

Like I said earlier I like the W2 boot... but if you are doing general touring and expect to do some wandering aroud I can't speak more highly of the Altberg Hogg MC boot

Thinking of getting a pair of these..what are the sizing like ? I tried on various boots Im a size 10 and most of them that are a 10 are too small more like a 9.5 and too narrow @ the toe area (and the 11's are too loose .. ) ..those W2 boots look wider @ the toe area any feed back appreciated thanks

I'm an 8/9 in shoes but my W2's are marked up as EU 43 US 10 - perfect fit , all day comfort on the bike, walking, hiking, etc...
