there are 2 small spacers between flaps and where it bolts to the cylinder head.
About 1/2 inch deep.
you can just see one in the last picture.

Trouble fitting them !!!!!! Now you know why they're called wally flaps. :D

where did you buy these from ?

Baglux tank cover.:thumb

now there's something thart would never have occurred to me.:augie

seriously though. I knew that already, just wanted it confirmed as I have never seen one fitted in that manner before. It's certainly nothing like the way I had mine fitted when I had one on my bike. It can't be 'tight' to the tank. and looks 'messy' and perhaps even 'risky', thinking back to how tight the straps had to be pulled to look 'right'.

I'm curious to know why that method was chosen.

being disabled with u/s hands,it was the best i could do.
And meant i could take it off prior to service ad refit it myself.
nothing risky about it :nenau
it worked fine for 3 years, and had the same on my 1100.

I got those "flaps" with me bike when I bought it. Had no idea about what they are before seing this topic.

Mind you that some other strange parts came along too which I have no idea what they are. Maybe do a topic of my own about them.
