I voted for "Swimming in Scotlands safest sandy bays" a couple of days ago.
"Achmelvich beach is a welcome oasis of calm. A beach well known by those that know the west coast you wont be on your own but that all adds to the beach party atmosphere, there are usually several big groups of families spending the day swimming and barbequeing at this beautiful sheltered bay. The golden sands run gently into the calm gentle surf making it ideal for small kids as well as the much bigger kids. You could also find yourself sharing this natural bathing pool with a shoal of dolphins as we did on our visit. Awesome!"
Had some great times at Achmelvich, just wish it wasn't so far away.
Quite a few other good ideas for things to do in Scotland. Did Linlithgow Castle a while ago when I had a year's membership of Historic Scotland. They has some re-enactment folk there the same day and that was good.
