I used several manufacturers when I was learning, but just go for 3M vinyl . On my old 1200GSA virtually every panel was covered including the cowling around the radiators. After a couple of years the “extra” vinyl on the back of the panels became a little brittle due the the heat in some areas, but still looked great on the show side. The downside was that when I traded the bike, the dealer wanted it “back to original” in every way. All the mods came off, including the wrap. The bike looked pristine as the wrap had protected it brilliantly, it was in showroom condition.
There is an older 3M vinyl called Di-NOC which I tried but it was nothing as good as the 3M Scotchprint. There is an embossed feel to it and it’s easy to use. Get a good heat applicators and start simple.
Clear protection. I used InvisiShield on the hard bits including the tank and covers. This came in a pre-cut kit and took less than an hour to protect virtually all the bike. The dealer won’t be asking for that to be removed this time as it is invisible.
I’d only tackle the low radius curve areas again. The complex compound curves around the cowls takes a disproportionate amount of effort. Done well it can look brilliant. Carbon fibre wrap gives a dramatic effect, particularly if you’re careful to “match the grain” and use different angles on adjacent panels.
