No. The 1100s is externally exactly the same as the 1150gs engine.
My GS has an 1100s engine, a 1150gsa gearbox with an 1150RT frame with most of the ancillaries being either gsa or gs

So why is it more hp with less displacement?

Ask bmw. The 1100s was the sports model there you would expect the bhp to be higher

It does use a different ECU, just a heads up

I believe it will, but the gearbox from it won't.
